This isn’t fun to hear and it’s the opposite of what most people will tell you but the key to long-term health, fitness, and weight loss is consistency.
It’s about constantly choosing to take the stairs rather than the elevator.
To constantly choose to eat a salad rather than a burger.
To constantly decide to go to the gym each day than to go home and sit on the couch.
It’s about making the choice you know to be right more often than not.
Now, that is not to say that you have to make the right choice EVERY time. But you need to make it MOST times.
At Arsenal, we tell our clients that if you workout 3-4 times per week and eat a healthy and balanced diet 80% of the time you will see results.
The problem is that the majority of people don’t workout 3-4 times a week and aren’t eating healthy diets.
The good news is that being consistent is a habit. It’s hard at first but the only way to find it is by making one right decision at a time and snowballing it until it finds so much momentum that it becomes unstoppable.
One of our coach’s top priorities to help new clients build consistency through accountability. We don’t expect someone to walk in off the street and immediately know how to make the right decisions to positively impact their lives.
Rather, we guide them to the first right choice.
And then to the second.
And then to the third.
And so on until they have built so much momentum that making the right choice consistently is engrained in them.
When clients come to Arsenal they experience a level of accountability not found in many other places because our coaches are people who truly care about helping others.
We understand that making tough choices consistently can be difficult and that people need to be shown the way, but that is why we are here. To be their guide and show them that if they continue to make the right choices more often than not they will win for years to come.
