Everyone knows working out is good for your health and wellness.
It’s common sense. Yet, the majority of the population doesn’t work out.
Why is that?
Well, it could be because “workout” contains the word “work,” and if you aren’t motivated, the idea of working for nothing can be a scary thing.
But if you’re motivated, you’ll dig deep into whatever program or routine you begin to reach your goals.
So how do you find motivation?
Here is the secret:
Focus on your goals and rely on a coach.
How to Accomplish Your Goals
Would it be fun to spend all your money on cars and clothes and other cool stuff? Yes! But you don’t because you have other goals, like paying your rent or mortgage, taking a vacation, and saving for retirement. These things motivate you, so you stay on track.
Finding fitness motivation is just like saving for those other, more important things. If you have goals, you’ll be motivated to work toward them. But here’s the problem: When most people don’t see progress, they quit.
Financial goals are easy to track because you can watch the numbers grow. Easy, right? For most people, fitness goals can be harder to track, but we can help. We help clients identify their short- and long-term goals, determine how to measure them, and track progress. And we celebrate all the small wins on the path, their big ones!
This is why the second part, relying on a coach, is so essential.
I know that you have goals. But you might not have the plan. Want to lose 20 lb.? We can tell you how. Want to improve run a 5k or a marathon? We have a program. Want to get stronger? That’s in our wheelhouse, too.
There’s nothing more frustrating than spinning your wheels. If you see a clear path to your goals and get to celebrate milestones along the way, you’ll be very motivated.
To me, a coach is a person who will draw the map from your current state to your goals and set up wins along the way. They will be the first to pick you up when you’re down. And your coach will also be the one who celebrates each win with you along the way.
