“I started CrossFit after my fiancé, Josh Brown, started with the 6 Week New You Challenge. I saw the progress he was making and wanted to be a support system for him. I decided to join with him once the challenge was finished so we could take classes together.
I was extremely nervous and terrified to start. I didn’t know a lot about it. I worked out some, did yoga and tried to stay active but I had heard that Crossfit was really hard and super intense. I didn’t think I’d survive. Now, I try to recruit everyone I talk to!
I would have to say my favorite part of Crossfit is the atmosphere/community. Everyone is so supportive of each other both in and outside of the gym. It’s nice to be a part of a community of people who want to help each other improve their quality of life.
I’ve learned that I used to sell myself short. That I am capable of a lot more than I ever thought I could be. Crossfit has helped me to not only be physically strong but mentally strong as well. I now have more confidence in myself not only in the gym but in my everyday life. All of my “I can’t do that” has turned into “I can and I will”. Everyday I strive to be a better version of myself.”
