GET STARTED
Feeling nervous before your first class is completely normal.
A lot of people feel that way before they walk in. They worry they will not know the movements. They worry everyone else will be in better shape. They worry they will spend the whole workout feeling lost or trying to keep up with people who already know what they are doing.
Those are understandable concerns, especially if it has been a while since you worked out or you have never trained in a coached class before. But your first class is not supposed to feel like you are walking into a room where everyone expects you to already know everything.
That is the whole point of having a coach.
You Are Not Expected to Know Everything
You do not need to walk into your first class knowing all the movements, understanding the workout format, or knowing exactly how much weight to use.
We explain the workout before class starts. We demonstrate the movements. We talk through the goal of the day. Then we help you figure out what version makes the most sense for where you are starting.
That could mean using a lighter weight, changing the range of motion, slowing the movement down, or choosing a different exercise altogether. None of that is unusual. It is part of how a coached class works.
The workout is not one-size-fits-all. The goal is to help each person find the right version for them.
Everyone Starts Somewhere
It is easy to assume everyone else in class is already in great shape or already knows what they are doing.
But everyone had a first class.
Everyone had a first time learning the movements, figuring out the flow of class, and getting used to the way things work. Some people come in with years of training experience. Some people are brand new. Some people are coming back after a long break.
Your starting point does not need to match anyone else’s.
The only thing you need to do in your first class is show up, listen, ask questions when you need to, and take the workout one piece at a time.
The Coach Is There to Help You Adjust
If something feels confusing, you can ask.
If something does not feel right, say something.
If you are unsure what a movement is supposed to feel like, let the coach know.
You are not bothering anyone by asking for help. You are not slowing the class down by needing a movement explained again. Coaching is part of the class, not something extra you have to earn.
A coach can help you choose the right weight, adjust a movement, understand the workout, and feel more comfortable as you go. That is especially important in your first class, when everything is new.
Your First Class Is Not a Test
A lot of people walk into their first class feeling like they need to prove they belong.
You do not.
Your first class is not about being the strongest person in the room. It is not about finishing first, using the heaviest weight, or doing every movement exactly as written.
It is about getting comfortable with the gym, learning how class works, and taking the first step.
You will learn the structure. You will meet the coach. You will get a feel for the workout. And you will leave with a better understanding of what training here actually looks like.
That is enough for day one.
Just Start With the First Class
Starting something new is usually the hardest part.
Once you get through the first class, the whole process starts to feel a lot less intimidating. You know where to go. You know what class feels like. You know that the workout can be adjusted. You know there is a coach there to help.
You do not need to be in better shape before you start.
You do not need to know all the movements.
You do not need to have everything figured out.
You just need to take the first step.
