What is CrossFit and Why You Should Do It.

People ask us all the time what is CrossFit? The easiest answer is to recite the technical definition: constantly varied, functional movement performed at a high intensity. But what does that really mean?

Constantly Varied
We change things up. Your workout today won’t be the same today as it was yesterday and tomorrow’s workout won’t be the same as today or the day before.

High Intensity

This is different for everyone, but this is the biggest factor in making real changes in the gym. We need to put in our best effort every day. The higher the intensity, the more our body will adapt in a positive way.

Functional Movement
CrossFit moves the body in the way we were designed to move (i.e. Squat, Press, Lift off the ground, etc.) using multiple joints and muscles simultaneously. For us, aesthetics or how we look in the mirror is less important than how we move and how we feel throughout your day.

So what does this all mean to you?

It means that there is no better way to improve overall health and wellness then by doing CrossFit. CrossFit is “evidence-based fitness”, it is empirically driven, clinically developed, and based around community. It challenges the world’s fittest athletes and at the same time is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect for any committed individual, regardless of experience. We can scale load, movements, and intensity; we don’t change the program. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.
